A Picture to represent SG culture

This photo shows many words and phrases that are spoken in Singapore and that if they are not living in Singapore, they may not understand the language. Why did I choose this photo? I think it best represent Singapore as Singapore is a multi-racial country and that all of us live here harmoniously. This words and phrases only are spoken by different races is because we communicate with one another and this shows our culture, being able to have a language of our own. We have words like 'makan' that is of Malay language and we even have phrases from hokkien dialect and these are spoken by all the different races.

Dilemma between Blind Pursuit of Higher Economic Growth & Protecting our Environment

Personally, I think that it is a dilemma and one that is serious as sacrifices would be made. First, we consider about our natural greenery and the other to consider is our industries that is concerning our economic growth.  I think that instead of having a dilemma to focus on one, we can balance both economic growth and protection of environment at the same time. Firstly, a country like Singapore is a small island surrounded by water, and if we focuses on the economic growth, more space would be used to build factories and more trees would be cut in order to create space for the building of factories. But doing this also causes Singapore to not have enough trees to take in the carbon dioxide, moreover this would then lead to global warming which is what every country is trying to avoid. Reflection for Biology Practical Lesson

On the 12 July 2017, Wednesday, we went to Biology Lab to conduct our practical experiment as we did not complete the practical the previous lesson and Mr Wong suggested a make up lesson. When we arrived there, we started off by listening to Mr Wong and he demonstrated the experiments and gave several instructions. We collected our goggles and several equipment and started on our experiments. When we started cleaning our workspace as the time given was up, two of our classmates broke a test tube each due to carelessness. From this, I learnt that every single resource provided by our school is extremely precious. The school pays for these equipments to create opportunities for us to learn and practice experiments. Hence, we should appreciate all these and not waste any of it. Also, I have learnt that while doing experiments, we should be focused and not get distracted easily to ensure our own safety.
